General Purpose Chain
General purpose chain is strong, durable chain used in non-lifting applications. It is commonly made of low carbon steel and commonly galvanized or zinc plated to add higher resistance to moisture and corrosion. General purpose chain comes in many link shapes, such as regular, long, short, or twisted. It is ideal for tying, binding, logging, and towing applications. It can also be used in sprocket wheels but should not be used for overhead lifting.

Roller Chain
Roller chain transmits mechanical power through linked rollers and a rotating sprocket that drives the chain. Roller chain's simple design accommodates many link and roller variations and makes it integral to conveyor systems. Small rollers are used in lightweight chains for light-load, high-speed applications. Large rollers with greater pitch values give roller chain higher tensile strength to handle heavier loads. While cotter pins and rivets allow multi-strand roller chain configurations, attachment chain links fasten to the chain or replace existing links for lengthening or adapting an attachment.
